Forget Me Not
Steel wire
42” x 36” x 27”
2014
A special outdoor installation dedicated to Roric William Davis. Born July 21 at 7:53 am. He lived 2 days and 12 minutes. I made this elephant to watch over his grave and to bring joy and light in his memory. Forget Me Not is held in a place of honor as the beginning of my metal work, and the vessel off my inspiration. My childs' life, though short, was indescribably precious. I believe in someway by capturing the childlike wonder of the world, and bringing a bit of joy into the world, my son lives on within my sculptures. They are truly my children, I shape them and help them grow, name them, and then release them out into the world, honored to watch how they affect it in ways I could have never imagined.
May you live on within the wonders of the world. You are forever loved my dear. Love always, your mama.
